Well, Santa and Santa's elves (grand parents and aunties and uncles) were soooo good to Mason this year! He made a HAUL, especially on cars and trucks, which he couldn't have been more thrilled about. It's no surprise he's expanded his vocabulary to include names of cars, such as Tahoe, Hummer, Mack, Sally, and Doc (characters from the movie Car's). We had a very busy but very enjoyable holiday. Friday, John, Denise, Stacy and Eric cooked me a wonderful dinner for my birthday. They barbecued my favorite Yoshida marinated steak - YUM! Saturday we had the Kieneker family get together, and Sunday was the Hammond's. We relaxed most of Christmas eve day. In the early evening we drove up to Brier to a wonderful light display where every house on the block is decked out, and even Santa takes time out of his busy night to make an appearance, say hello to the kids, and accept food bank donations. When we got back home John made his family's traditional "spritz" cookies for Santa!
John and I watched Mason open Santa presents on Christmas morning, which was soooo much fun! (We got some great video which I will try to post a little later today) In the afternoon, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Kieneker's to open more presents with them, Stacy, Eric, and Tristen. Denise and John made a wonderful Christmas turkey dinner, and besides the fact I came down with a nasty cold right in time for the Holiday, it was a very, very nice day!
