Project Week

John is off this week, so we've been working hard around the house to get a few much needed projects done. So far we've cleaned out and completely reorganized the garage (it hasn't been this empty, clean, & organized since we moved in), cleaned out the guest bedroom, and the walk in closet of the guest bedroom that we were using as a storage closet. John's mom and dad are doing a remodel on their house and will be moving in with us for 6 weeks this summer so we needed to get some of it done before that happened. We'll be working on the yard, laundry room, and a clean out and re-org of everyone's closets the rest of the week, along with our normal weekly cleaning. It's a lot of work but will feel so nice to have it all done!
We had a wonderful 4th - the traditional Kieneker family potluck picnic and volleyball game. I totally forgot the camera and was SO BUMMED! After the picnic we went back to John and Denise's house to light off fireworks in their culdesac. I wasn't sure how Mason would be, the noise has never bothered him but this was the first year dad and grandpa took him to pick out some fireworks. He's so cautious with everything else, but that was definitely NOT the case with fireworks. He of course loved the "pops" and smoke bombs, but the sparklers were by far his fav. Every time he did one he'd yell, "whoa! fire!!!" and take off running with the biggest 'up-to-no-good' smile! He also loved helping daddy light some bigger fireworks and then running away once they were light. Don't worry, his 'helping' only consisted of him carrying the firework to the street, standing behind John while he light it, and then running away with daddy screaming like a little girl - haha! Speaking of, Peyton also didn't mind the firework noise in the slightest either!
Here are some random new pictures.....
